SprintPCS uses 1112223333@messaging.sprintpcs.com
(where 1112223333 is the phone number being paged)

Some others have webpage interfaces to their paging services, and so, you
can cheat by looking where they submit to, what format they're using, and
just go and fire something off their their form backend.

Personally, I get so many pages a day about other stuff (SMTP down, can't
ping machine, HTTP down, etc), because of the way BigBrother works. (I
really need to get some time to rewrite out alert system, so I can define
amt of time something's allowed to be considered down before it pages me,
as we've got a flaky frame line in the formula)

um...and as to efficiency on your cron job, you may want to look at
'wget'. It's MUCH more efficient than calling lynx. (it's a GNU product)
