DBI:ODBC problem

Hello Mike!!!
I am sorry to bother You directly, but YOU're the only one who could know.
This is my problem:
I am trying to access the SQL database running on the one box from the
miniVend 3.11 running on the other one.
I am trying to do this via ODBC, and I can't guess syntax to do that.
In documentation there is a line like:
Database 	products	products	dbi:ODBC:TCP/IP 	localhost	1413
As far as I understand :
Database - global parameter name
products-name of the database in miniVend
products-name of the original database (file or SQL table)
dbi:ODBC- connection type (data format)
TCP/IP-protocol used
localhost-database host address or name
1413-TCP/IP port number.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

This description is not working for me. I have the error message:

config error: Can't locate object method "open_table" via package
"Vend::Table::DBI" at /usr/home/sklep/mvend/lib/Vend/Data.pm line 892.

I found the line in Data.pm and it is:

$db = Vend::Table::DBI->open_table($obj,$base);

I am not to experienced with Perl (actually I am learning it ) but in my
understanding this line means that the parameters for function open_table
are not correct, and they are taken from the catalog.cfg line:

Database 	products	products	dbi:ODBC:TCP/IP 	localhost	1413

Can you point me how to write this line properly.
Necessery data:
SQL box name:	SQLname
SQL box ip	SQLip
SQL communication port: SQLport
communication method: ODBC over TCP/IP
Data Sounrce Name:	DSN

Please help!!!!
