Re: Naming file attachments

****** message to minivend-users from John Armstrong <siberian@siberian.org> ******

I believe that Mike has talked about this in the archives. I decided
against it as dealing with the Credit Card side of everything is just
a hassle this way.

The way we are attempting to handle things is with three attachments per email.

Attachment 1 : Customer Info including Order ID( Comma/quote delimited )
Attachment 2 : One item per line, each with order ID and relevant
item information ( comma/quote delim )
Attachment 3 : Encrypted Credit Card info.

These are then imported into a filemaker pro database which
associates products to orders via the OrderID as the primary key. The
reason I want to rename the files is so that FMP and the human
handlers will know what Order ID each file associates to ( especially
for the CC info ).

From what I understand of encrypting the entire order, you have to
store the CC unencrypted or something like that, its a pretty vague
area ( the documentation says that its 'left to an exercise for the
reader' ). Also, if you try to send delimited data via unencrypted
email some freaky mail clients like Netscape and Outlook munge the
heck out of the data, hence the need for attachments.
