thanks for your answer. Maybe you saw, that I found the solution. I had to use INET-Mode
instead of UNIX (:-)).

I forgott to say, that all files where owned by the <user>. Sorry.

When I use virtuald (http://www.redhat.com/mirrors/LDP/HOWTO/Virtual-Services-HOWTO.html),
apache will be called with a "chroot /usr/home/<user>", which means, there is no "~"
anymore. So I have to use "/" to get into the root of the <user>.
