I don't THINK that there are any risks of data damage or loss - just the
possibility of degraded performance. And at that, it would probably have to
be a high-traffic sight to notice it much. I should have started this
exchange on the Minivend mailing list - I am going to copy this message to
it and see if anyone else has anything to say on the subject.
