Setting and configuring minivend
Hello All,
I have a few basic questions. I'm new to minivend, and could use some
direction on how I should setup our system. I currently have minivend setup
to run as nobody. After spending some time fixing permission issues I got
the simple catalog working. My next step was to figure how to setup our own
catalog. Well now I ran into the part of the manual that tells me that I
should not run minivend at nobody, arrrrggggghhhh.. <grin>
Okay, So I need to reset-up minivend the right way. I'm a little confused
on how I should do this. Right now we will have one client(hosted web page)
that will be using minivend. In the next few months we may have several.
So I need to setup minivend with the idea of multiple catalogs. And it was
suggested that minivend be run as the same user as our web server, well our
web server (Apache) is running as nobody. Who should I run minivend as??
Do I create a user minivend and run as user minivend? If so, what group
should be the default group? And when I add new clients do I just add the
user minivend to the new group our new client belongs to?
I know this isn't Apache's mailing list, but if there is a problem running
minivend as nobody, might there be a security issue running Apache as
nobody?
Any direction would be great!!
