checkout page in frames?

I am a newbie and learning every day but now I have a problem with my checkout page that I can't seem to solve. 
My minivend shopping pages run in a frames page with two header frames and a content frame. It looks like somewhere there is a target="_top" tag or something because everytime when I call the checkout page (as shown in the simple demo) from the basket page my frames disappear and I only see the checkout page. Any suggestions to solve this "problem"??
