i think mike has done so much for us with minivend that you are allowed to do a
lot of things here :-). anyway, if you want to do what i think that you do you
should be really careful. one of the main problems with patents like the amazon
ones is to show the justice "that people already have known your product".
there are different methods to do "scientific approved" reports about that,
witch are all really expensive. we had a self done jave shopping basket in 1996
before we switched to minivend. this was able to do the same thing, but i would
see no way to fight against their patent because of the above point. if i would
do that i would sell the information to barnes & nobles that they can finish as
a winner. good luck.

re.: if you have tapes witch are not more accessible, i think there are guys on
the list witch have the possibility to read old backups :-)
