[mv] Newbie ? session.lock

Greetings all,
Just installed V3.14-4 on RedHat 6.
Install script seemed to run fine.
The problem ........
I am trying to open the mv_admin page and
the page asks for username/password
If I enter it, I receive nada....
The error logs show " 'etc/session.lock': Permission dened"
I looked through FAQ and mail list archives and found little
help.
I found no session.lock in the etc directory for the root of the
program and so I touched one and even 777 nd it as well as set
the owners name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
