[mv] Catalog page sorting

Hi
	I cant seem to get the catalog page to sort in any other way
than by product code
I have tried to get title sorting by :

[search-list]
[sort][value=title:n][/sort]
[on-change 1]
[condition][item-field category][/condition]
<center><TABLE WIDTH="80%"><TD>

obviously I have set something wrong..
PS ... I cant get the code to display using  [item-field code]is this
not a viewable tag ?
