[mv] MV4.0alpha10 SQL parse problem
****** message to minivend-users from "Christian J. =?iso-8859-1?Q?M=FCller?=" <cmueller@polinet.ch> ******
Installation is MV4.0alpha10 on Linux SUSE 6.3 using mySQL 23.7 alpha.
I am trying to implement a ling with a one-click SQL search like:
<A HREF="[tag sql]select code, isbn, title, author from products where
searchcrit1 = 'architecture'[/tag]"> architecture</A>
This is exactly as an example in the MV4 manual. According to the
manual, this should result in a URL like:
<A HREF="http://your.com/cgi-bin/simple/scan/sq=select ...">
in my case, the parser looses the .../simple/scan/sq=... and produces:
<A HREF="http://your.com/cgi-bin/select code,isbn ...">
I have alternatively tried the [area scan sq=...] tag, but have also
failed because MV translated the SQL statement into a "normal" MV
scan/fi=products.txt/se=... search. The search failed since I have no
products.txt and a respective error message appears in error.log.
I am kind of uncertain, whether I have not really understood MV's
handling of SQL. All I am really looking for is to be able to
transparently using SQL statements, which I have previously tested in
mySQL.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Chris
