[mv] Can [scratch <name>] output be parsed for minivend tags?

****** message to minivend-users from Tim Murphy <goombah@netcom.ca> ******

Hi again,

Almost... there...

I have a menubar with conditional selections (i.e. if you're an
international user "checkout" takes you to an international page, a
US user goes to a US page, etc.). I tried doing all the if/thens at the
beginning of the menubar/menubottom pages and then setting a scratch
variable with the appropriate buttonbar tags, and then
using that scratch variable in the menu specification. Unfortunately
Minivend is just putting out the scratch
variable as html; the buttonbar tags aren't being interpreted and so the
menu doesn't work. An example of the code:

Setting the variable:
[if <what country you're are in>]
[then]
   [set bbutton][bar-button page=<the page>][/set]
[/then]
[/if]

Using the variable:
[scratch bbutton interpolate=1]
(the rest of the menubar specification)

All I can get is "[bar-button page=<the page>]" output as HTML, not
evaluted for a menu item. Is this the wrong way to go about what I'm
trying to do? (Or is it just some REALLY obvious booboo :^) ?)

Thanks!

Tim
