[mv] Error limiting the number of rows returned

I am using mySQL with minivend and I am trying to limit the number
of rows returned, however, keyword LIMIT in sql string causes an
error in error.log, even though it is a valid keyword in mySQL
queries.  Below is the syntax from minivend enhanced page.

$Safe{'scratch'}{'selString'} = "SELECT * FROM products WHERE
dept=\'$Safe{'scratch'}{'selDepartment'}\' LIMIT
$Safe{'scratch'}{'current'},10"

[sql type=list query="[scratch selString]"]

The above produces a string that works directly with mySQL, however,
I get a syntax error in error.log.  When I remove the word LIMIT,
everything works without logging an error.

I would very much appreciate any suggestions.
