[mv] MV4beta install problems

Hello,
Due to my MV crash I thought I would go ahead and try the just released
MV4beta,
OS FreeBSD

When I Makefile.PL  , since my perl is perl5.004 I pointed directly to
perl5.005 like this

/usr/local/bin/perl500503 /usr/local/httpd/cdaniel/minivend-4.0beta1
Makefile.PL

did make & make install , all seems well

do ./makecat
everything ok
Then
/usr/local/httpd/cdaniel/mvend/bin minivend -r

I get this.

Now do I need to ln -s perl500503 perl?
