  Try using the 'flypage' page as a model. You can see an example of it here:

http://www.minivend.com/cgi-bin/simple/19-203?g5KqYc28;;29

 look for a page named 'flypage.html' in the simple demo of your
installation. it's probably in a directory named like 'special pages'.
It's in a different location in the 3.x series and the 4.x series. 
  The number '19-203' in the URL is the product id that is used in
retreiving all the relevent information. Change that number and the
product changes. 
  
  One way to achieve the random item is to write a small CGI scripts
that selects a random product ID and then  redirects to a 'flypage'
based on that ID. there may well be a more direct way to do this in Minivend.
