[mv] SQL selecting in perl/usertags

Can someone give a brief overview or example of the correct way to
access SQL databases (specifically Msql) from a UserTag or within a
[perl][/perl] construct? I have tried calling things like sql_query and
array_query, as well as attempting to use DBI directly to open a
connection to my database, but nothing gives any results at all. I just
need a working example of how to connect to and extract data from a
database. Please help! Thanks.
