Re: [mv] V3.12: Continue Shopping Button - Javascript does notalways work
****** message to minivend-users from Ed LaFrance <edlafrance@printexusa.com> ******
I've seen this on the list many times. One has to be really clear about
where they want to send the user when they click "continue shopping." For
instance, what if they got to the cart from the checkout page - is checkout
where they should go back to? What if , since they last placed an item in
their cart, they have viewed some news, or help, or done some configuring
of their account...now where do you send them with "Continue Shopping" that
will seem relevant?
One thing you can do is have "Continue Shopping" essentially repeat the
last search, redisplaying the list of items they were looking at, just
before the bought the most recent item. You can do this with the search
cache (see the docs), though this has some special server requirements if I
remember correctly, or you can capture the value of mv_searchspec in a
scratch variable and use it in a [scan...] tag.
