We typically keep processing codes separate from minivend order numbers
in an orders table. Forcing everything to be the same all the way down
the road boxes you in otherwise. Suppose you want to split an order
but take a single payment, etc....

I don't understand that. Cybercash doesn't use email. It sounds like
you are mixing a few things together. Cybercash process is separate from
order "report".

Cybercash may not be the right tool, but it is more likely the regular
invoice processing system your merchant uses. Sounds like you need
an "advice of order contingent on stock", then "advice of order
accepted" and invoice. The latter two will likely be outside of
minivend though you could set it up so merchant could visit page
and then initiate final order placement.
You are really dealing with work flow and order processing systems here,
not minivend per se. You need to get really clear on the steps in
the whole order process first.
