Re: [mv] Minivend 4 released -- install problems again
****** message to minivend-users from Pugdog <pugdog@ibm.net> ******
Ok, I thought I'd give it one more shot.... I got through the make process,
and even the initial catalog creation -- up to:

Which I figure is where it hits a problem with MySQL because I require
a password, and there is no place in the config script to give it a "super
user"
to create the databases, etc. There should be.... it's not a security hole to
require the password be entered to do the creating -- as long as it's not
saved.
Then, one time I got it to run, and it ran up until the last errors -- it
made the
databases but died (this time) at line 123 (not 122) in InMemory.pm again,
with the undefined value problem. All tables seem to be created. Still can't
figure that out.
Anyway, I rebooted the server, re-installed the software -- ie: make
install, and
set all the permissions in the minivend directory to it's own owner, group
and
permissions 775 (just to over come any permissions problems). I ran the
bin/makecat simple program, and it ran fine up until the end:

I am now up to the point where I need to run the restart command:

Ok, this is different from before -- I was given an error that I had to supply
a password and ID for MySQL ... which I did, and then I'd hit the the problems
reported previously for beta2
What the heck does that error message mean?? All the files are there... they
are the same as the install... that is a snip of my telnet log ... I didn't
do anything
in between.
test_minivend is there, with all the tables apparently stuffed.
Once I get past this, I'm sure I'll hit the undefined value again... but that's
the next installment.
