[mv] Search Form for userdb not working

Would anyone out there know why this one-click search:

[page scan
             se="Test Account"
             sp=mydir/mysearchpage
             sf=name
             fi=userdb
         ] Test Search 2 [/page]


displays the expected results on the specified page, but this form:

<FORM ACTION="[mydir/mysearchpage]" METHOD=POST>
	<input type="hidden" name=mv_action value=search>
	<input type="hidden" name=mv_search_file value=userdb>
	<input type="hidden" name=mv_search_field value=name>
	<INPUT TYPE="text" SIZE="30" NAME="mv_searchspec">
	<INPUT TYPE="submit" VALUE="Search">
</FORM>
displays the search page, but with no results?  Any suggestions are
greatly appreciated.
