[mv] Newbie problem with Version4 please help
****** message to minivend-users from Roger Arnold <ecommerce@a-dream.com.au> ******
Gooday,
I have just tried to install version 4 of MiniVend (I previously had ver
3.14 running) and everything seemed to go OK untill I tried to access
the demo catalog. Thinking the problem was that MVend had not been
started, I proceeded to start the MV server using the command shown on
the screen after the install.
Then I was presented with the following:
Killing Minivend server 29988 with TERM.
Low traffic settings.
MiniVend V4.00
Configuring catalog simple...
Using MySQL for databases, DSN=dbi:mysql:test_minivend.

MiniVend server started in INET and UNIX mode(s) (process id 1799)

I went right through the config process again and got the same
response,
however I am sure that I must be making a simple and silly mistake
somewhere.
I checked the MySQL database that had been set-up and found that it was
empty, is this normal ?
I would have thought that there would be data tables for the demo in
the
database ?
If I try to access the demo site on the server I get:
Undefined catalog: /cgi-bin/simple
This would indicate to me that "Makecat" did not copy all the files
into
the right places, however it did create the "temp-minivend" database.
If I have done something stupid please tell me that I have been stupid
and point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance for any replies
