    There is a util. called MyAdmin; its a CGI script that I've used before.  It allows you
to add databases, tables, columns, etc on the fly to the DB.  It also has a SQL interface
so that you can type in by-hand your sql statements to test them out...  If you cannot find
it, I'll throw it up on FTP for you.  I'd say to start looking around at
http://www.mysql.com for the software though.

    If you're attempting to modify the actual database (ie. adding records) try using
MiniMate - it also works pretty well.
