[mv] That Crazy MV4
****** message to minivend-users from "Arbor Internet" <arborinternet@arborinternet.com> ******
I just got MV4.02 running on FreeBSD. Pretty nice.
The install script doesn't seem to support virtual server configurations
where /usr/home/myname is the base dir, even when adding various PREFIX=
parameters. Some of the Minivend paths were wrong and none of the Perl
paths pointed to the version of Perl in the virtual tree. I hand edited
the paths in Makefile and everything was, sort of, fine after that. I did
get this error from make test:
% make test
PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1
/usr/bin/perl -Iblib/arch -Iblib/lib -I/usr/libdata/perl/5.00503/mach -I/u
sr/libdata/perl/5.00503 test.pl
server/unixmode.......ok 1
server/startup........ok 2
link/unixmode.........ok 3
server/inetmode.......ok 4
link/inetmode.........not ok 5
server/control........ok 6
6 tests run -- 1/6 failed.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
Is that something I should worry about or is it an installer problem?
I chose to ignore the error. The basic catalog installed without any
problems. The server started right up and everything seems to be working
fine. I get the [title-bar] tags showing, but there was a note in the list
about that.
Is anyone besides Mike Heins running MV4 in a production environment? Just
wonder when MV4 is ready for prime time for us mortals.
