I'm still playing with MV before I put it online.  I think that makes me
a Great Big Newbie...  :-)

I have MV installed using MySQL for the back end.  I thought I'd be
sneaky and edit the database from my Windoze machine with the ODBC
driver.  This caused a lot of confusion.  The labels disappeared for the
areas and none of the new records would display.  If I looked at the
tables with Minimate, the data was all there.  Finally, I made a change
to each record from Minimate and MV looks happier.

Any idea where I went wrong?  If the answer is RTFM, I'll look again.
