[mv] Inventory database mangling
****** message to minivend-users from Brian Wright <bdw@aturna.com> ******
Hello, List! :)
I have experienced some difficulties with the inventory database being mangled
with Minivend 3.15. Here's the problem:
I have the following in my report file:
[tag flag write]inventory[/tag]
[tag touch inventory][/tag]
.....
[item-list] Added [item-code] to transactions: [import table=transactions
type=LINE continue=NOTES]
code: [value mv_order_number]-[item-increment]
store_id: __STORE_ID__
order_number: [value mv_order_number]
session: [data session id]
username: [data session username]
shipping: [item-code]
nitems: [item-quantity]
subtotal: [item-price noformat]
payment_tax: [item-field title]
city: [item-modifier size] [item-modifier color]
order_date: [value order_date]
status: pending
parent: __PARENT__
stock: ([data inventory qty [item-code] -[item-quantity] decrement])
[/import][/item-list]
.....
[tag export inventory inventory.asc 6][/tag]
And I have the following in my catalog.cfg file:
Database inventory inventory.asc TAB
Database inventory WRITE_ALWAYS 1
Now, what happens after the database is exported, the top line containing the
key definitions, code and qty, are chopped off. People browsing the shop or
doing searches are getting OUT OF STOCK messages since the damaged database is
being imported into the DBM. I have since added the following line in my
catalog.cfg:
Database inventory.asc WRITE_ALWAYS 1
Will this prevent the ASCII database from being damaged? If not, how can I
prevent the ASCII database from having the line containing code and qty from
being chopped off?
I should also say that my clients are using ShopAdmin to update the inventory
database to update they're stock on hand.
Thanks!!! :)
Brian
