What user is the Minivend server running as?
And what user is the cgi-bin script running as when
called via https (use ps -auxw | grep "langdale-cat2"
or similar to see what user it is being run as)?
If they are different - there is the problem!
Also what are the permissions on the cgi-bin script?
(Usually it is set SUID to be run as the owner which
has to be the same as the Minivend server)
