I remember having this same trouble, and couldn't get a proper 
solution. A workaround (kludge, lateral thinking, whatever ..) is to 
use "hs=xxx", where xxx is the number of lines to "head skip" from 
the top of the products.asc, before finding any instance of 'insulin' 
without a modifier. IOW, put 'insulin' below 'red insulin', 'blue insulin', 
etc in products.asc, then a search for just 'insulin' will skip the 
other ones. This was in MV 3.14.
