Hi Marcus,

the reason of this special setting in minivend.cfg for the BSD user is
to prevent Minivend to go out of the process list. If you set maxserver
> 0, Minivend will start a new server as a child to serve all new request ASAP, if a lot of visitor is visiting your Minivend catalogs. This is the same behavior like the web server Apache does, if there are a high multiple request of any sites. Apache starts any number of the server (by his setting of the maxserver and start all this) at the first time. If the maxserver for Apache is 5, you can see 5 apache server is running via the top command. But Minivend start not all servers like Apache does. Mininvend start a new server only, if the Parentservers is under the pressure/stress. I'm in a process to find a solution and i've found the cause, why is the Minivend server dying. I can't promise for any solutions for that by my effort.

Regards,

	Joachim
