I'm using Minivend 4.04 on a UNIX computer with Apache. Two versions
of minivend are on the server - version 3 is running fine except that we
couldn't get it to run with msql. Decided to try upgrading to 4.04.
It was breaking other catalogs on this computer (not my server). So two
installations are installed.
The problem is that the simple demo isn't working. I'm receiving
a "server unavailable error" when I try to access the database.
Minivend starts up and then says connecting in UNIX mode only. It's
doing this because the INET server failed to start on port 7786. Port 7786
is already in use (maybe by the other version of minivend?)
I can start minivend with /usr/local/minivend/bin/minivend -r -u
the u is so it won't look at the domain sockets, but then INET doesn't
start anyway and I think I might need INET
I think INET not starting may be giving me my server not available
error?
Can two versions of minivend run successfully on one server?
