[mv] set_row init/pricing by fixed quantity

****** message to minivend-users from Brian Knotts <bknotts@europa.com> ******

I'm trying to set up a MV 4.04 catalog, and although I have successfully set up
several 3.x catalogs, I'm having a bit of trouble.

The first issue is the naming of the key column in products and pricing. It
seems like this must be named 'sku' in MV 4.x; is this the case? Whenever I
change it, I get a 'set_row init' error:

printprod config error: set_row init for products: No key column found. at
/usr/local/minivend/lib/Vend/Table/DBI.pm line 420, <IN> line 2.

The main question I have though, is more a request for advice. Here's my
situation: I have products that are sold by fixed quantity; in other words,
something like this:

sku [...] q250 q500 q1000 q5000 q100 q300 [...] quan

638 [...] =41 =75 [...] q250=250,q500=500

...

And then I tried putting the prices into pricing.txt:

sku q250 q500 q1000 q5000 q100 q300

638     =41      =75

And then this in catalog.cfg:

UseModifier quan
PriceAdjustment quan

Does this look anywhere close to being right?

I can't seem to get any prices to the basket. Am I missing something obvious?
Should I be using CommonAdjust instead?
