I can't understand your question!
Minivend is able to serve a lot of catalog with one Minvend Server only.
What do you mean with "one Vendroot"? Did you mean installing several
MiniVend for several shops? Oh no! Let it be!
Why not using the makecat script for adding a new catalog and answer the
question to add this into the minivend.cfg files to YES? For example
with 3 shops and ONE Minvend Server:

Catalog       oreilly /www/buchonline.net/catalogs/edv /cgi-bin/edv edv

What do you mean with talking about "super user" and "cat.txt"? What
happen? This is _not_ clear!
