[mv] MV4 - State/Province field produces runtime error

I get this when entering a state or changing the state field. It does keep
the value so I assume it's doing a behind the scenes check for tax or I
really screwed something up. This is in the stock checkout.html from the
simple demo.

no entries in error.log or mvdebug generated.

Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated.
