[mv] Extracting the value from mv_searchspec MV 4.04

Greetings,

It was pointed out to me that mv_searchspec is not in the form of an array.
I am moving from mv 3.14-4 to mv 4.04 and need to get the value of the
mv_searchspec for usage on some of my pages--can someone point me in the
right direction.

How can I extract the value from mv_searchspec and still use the mv tags.

I tried all I found on the mail list but none of those oprions worked.
