This is exactly my opinion.
In most cases, I think, people are'nt getting an answer to the 'simple'
questions they have from the list.
I think, a list of "known bugs" at least is helpful here to avoid confusion.

This is basically a good idea, take a look at http://www.minivend.org
the people there had the same idea months ago, but ..

I think, it should be possible to separate minivend itself from the
demo shop distribution, and provide some demos at minivend.com that are
NOT maintained by Mike (to safe his time) for the several setups (different
database connections, cybercash, locale support, ....)
In this case Mike H. is to be asked about this.
I would provide some help if this ever happens.
