[mv] cookies, different serves and empty checkout detailed
****** message to minivend-users from "Michael Schwartz" <michael@panamacom.com> ******
Hi!
I sent an email a few days ago about the No Items in the checkout....got a
few answers, but i think i should explain the problem a little bit better...
I have a few catalogs in one server, all of them are using different SSL
servers...to avoid the problem of getting a 'No Item' checkout if the user
goes from one catalog to the next (this is in the mailing archive), i
started using cookiedomain and everything works great.
Very few users are complaining about getting the 'No item' checkout...I sent
an email to these users to get more info, and some of them are behind a
Proxy (this one is able to shop in other stores like amazon and stuff), and
some of them are not behind a proxy/firewall. All of them have cookies
enabled. 50% had Cablemodem, 50% dialup.
That is why i cannot figure out what the problem is....Also, a lot of people
behind proxys are using the catalogs without problems. It is difficult
under this conditions to pinpoint what the problem could be.....I am
starting to think that the ISP could be the problem, but it isnt (tried
already).
I just want to know if someone has the same problem, and if someone has the
answer to this weird behaviour....or maybe a clue to pin point the source of
the problem. I think that 1% of the site users are having this
problem...maybe less....but then again, it is a problem, and i need to solve
it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards!
