Re: Fwd: [mv] mv_credit_card_info makes report disappear

Ok, it is like this:

I you read "Custom Order Routing" in the docs, and look for info regarding
encrypion and Route main, it says:

credit_card
Determines whether credit card encryption should be done for this order.
Either this or encrypt should always be set.

encrypt
Whether the entire order should be encrypted with the encrypt_program. If
credit_card is set, then the credit card will first be encrypted, then the
entire order encrypted.

...so I set both of these to '0' (false) in my Route main, and everything
works - Minivend encrypts the credit card, and I can include the encrypted
string in the body of the Report email, or as an attachment. Why does
no=yes? I do not have confirmation, but it appears that when using
Cybercash, the above settings are disregarded. It does not say this in the
docs, but the section on Cybercash does say that the CreditCardAuto
"method" is used for card encryption when Cybercash is enabled (even
though, according to the docs, CreditCardAuto should be set to 'No' in
catalog.cfg when Cybercash is enabled). I guess this precludes the encrypt
settings in Route. Maybe. I guess.

If anyone reading this is feeling confused, you are not alone. In all
likelihood, others have already discovered what I have, and it is in the
archives...somewhere!

Attenion Akopia - as you set out with a great product (Minivend) with goal
of marrying it with another great product (Tallyman) to make a new product
which is even better, please do not neglect to build better docs to go with
it! This is not intended as a jab at Mike Heinz or anyone else who
contributed to the docs - as they stand now they do contain a wealth in
solid info and examples - but I think the product has always been given
priority and it has outgrown the docs.
