I never paid attention to those things, but now I like to know.
What's the deal with Open Sales/Open Merchant site and software ?

Is that a competitor against MV/Tallyman ? The site is
graphically appealing, but where's the beef ? Someone knows ? 

Why competing open source e-commerce solutions ? Like to get
in a real race ? What's the main difference between the two ?
