I am a new user and I am trying to install MV 4.04 on to my
ISP's server, where my clients website are hosted. I want to install minivend onto this server remotely via my office PC, I
don't have root access to the ISP server and cannot use telnet - access denied
by the ISP. I only have access to my client accounts via FTP for
uploading web pages, cgi scripts etc... So, I downloaded the Unix version onto my local machine and then FTP it to my hosting company with a view to install and test. I have a few problems so I unzipped it local to my machine ( using WinZip ) and then FTP the minivend installation files ( in binary ) to one of my clients account /usr/users1/<account>/minivend-4.04 - on the ISP hosting server. I then went to install minivend onto the server remotely - via FTP. When I get prompted to enter the directory to install minivend, I entered:- /usr/users1/<account>/minvend Upon pressing return I got the message :- cannot chdir to ./lib: No such file or directory After this message, the installation terminated and could not continue any further. I have approached the ISP for assistance, but in their infinite wisdom are dragging there feet to help. Its been several weeks now and my clients getting impatient. Is there anybody out there who can give me help me with installing / setup / configuring minivend remotely ? I urgently need help, please if anyone can assist let me know. The hosting company uses:- Perl version 5.004 Dec Unix 4.0E Apache 1.3.6 Hansraj |
