Your server or ISP may have the port blocked for security purposes. Check
with the sys-admin and see or if you are the sys-admin, check your firewall
software for info on opening ports.

The most likely the thing is something else has the port in use, or
something is blocking your access to it.

Here is my problem:

I have setup minivend properly, but now when I start the server it says
in the command line: "Minivend servermn started in  INET or UNIX
mode(s)..." but whe I type "ps ax | grep minivend" it does not show
minivend as an operating process and the log file says that it "could
not open as a socket"...

anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?
