I'm not sure if this has anything to do with this, but I had once a problem
like this. I'm not sure if this was the solution to the problem, but try it
anyway:
I had edited my (config-)files with notepad, and after removing the carriage
returns, everything worked fine. In the docs at
http://www.minivend.com/minivend/README-win.txt is this one trick in
removing the carriage returns: perl -npi.bak -e "s:\r::g" <file-you-edited>.
