RE: [mv] Preview of Akopia Interchange
****** message to minivend-users from "Webb, Malcolm" <malcolmw@upshot.com> ******
Hi-
I took a look at the demo site, and it looks cool.
My question, though, is what if I need to change the underlying data model
to fit my needs?
I looked at Intershop 4.0, but had to abandon it, because despite the
advanced administrative interface and support for inventory, I would have
had to customize the entire app in order to use it in the way that I wanted.
Is the new administrative interface customizable? Is the process for
performing customizations documented? Will there be a "simple" and "basic"
demo of the administrative module included with the download?
The answers to these questions are what will determine whether the
Interchange product can be successful in a very crowded space - there's no
shortage of free shopping carts with HTML-based admin tools out there. What
I haven't seen is an administrative toolset that can be easily customized...
THAT would be a really great product!

Guess who did Tallyman? The original ShopSite developers. 8-)
