At the moment the project is in the very early stages. Although the server is
stable, we use it to provide the shipping costs for Royal Mail on our shops.
It works by looking up tables of UN countries against zones ( you can add to the
db if you wish), then matching those zones to prices. However presently this has
to be hard coded in subroutines, an example is included in the server. We just
cut and pasted it from our catalog.cfg files. Quite soon I will have finish a
config file with which you will be able to costomize the server, with out
haveing to write any perl, to handle external table lookups in databases, tab
files or formula etc.
All the code for the client side ( which goes in the minivend.cfg and
shipping.asc file) is include as well as instructions on how to change your
shopping files to accomodate the server lookups in preference to minivend
mv_shipmode variable ( I use mv_ship_mode, it makes pipling to 'sed' a lot
easier :-) ).
