Believe me, if it was as easy as that, I would do it.

That is the part I have a problem with. I suppose that if I ran
Minivend as the "postgres" user, then I could do it easily.

It is even somewhat difficult to install DBD::Pg for wanting the
environment variable names.

I love the MySQL default config that allows all databases beginning with
test to be wide-open. 

I did at one point fiddle around with it to get it going for building
the Minivend 4 demo PGSQL stuff, but then my workstation crashed and
I lost the configuration.
