[mv] SQL Query

Hello,
I have database with autoaccessories which can be UNIVERSAL and for
specific SPECIFIC CAR.
I just try to implement the query which shows me the list of "universal"
products as well as
specific car products.
Here is example of working MySQL query:

select sku from products where 
	( firm='Bridgestone' and category='Wheels' ) and ( cartype='' or
cartype='FERRARI' )

Anyone knows how to implement this query in MV?
I've tryed this one but seems that MV doesnt pass cartype='' string.
