[mv] Detailed product info strategies
****** message to minivend-users from Simon B <music@labyrinth.net.au> ******
I have been thinking this over for a few weeks and would
like to hear some thoughts of the more experienced mvend
users as I imagine it must be a very common exercise.
The aim is to add "very" detailed product information
to a db_file database to initially use for display with
the flypage.
On a regular basis these detailed pages will be created
as static files, primarily for search engine submission.
The additional information comprises of approximately
20 fields. Extra images, specs etc. Several of the fields
will be quite large detailed descriptions consisting of
many paragraphs of information.
The questions:
Should I add all of the extra fields and data to the
existing products.asc (easy route for many reasons)
or would this be too cumbersome?
Would there be any advantage/disadvantage to holding
the "detailed info" in an arbitary database?
I am using 3.14
