I don't mind requests for consulting help being posted in this newsgroup (and,
in fact, actually appreciate it at times), but I do object to followup replies
with offers of consulting services being sent to the mailing list when it
should be private email.

When I see those replies, I (personally) figure that anyone that blindly does
a Reply using their email client without checking the To: entry before hitting
the Send button doesn't have a clue and doesn't deserve to get any of my money.

I know honest mistakes can happen at times by being too anxious to hit Send.
That's why I make an effort to check the To: line first, before I actually
compose the text of my reply.

Note that I'm not picking on Philip, or the person who also replied yesterday
to the entire mailing list, personally. There have been others in the past and
will be more in the future, I'm sure. I sometimes just get tired of seeing
messages that should be private email show up in mailing lists and today I
was annoyed enough to say something. Sigh....
