RE: [mv] minivend and mysql on seperate machines?

****** message to minivend-users from "Humberto T Reyes" <htreyes@earthlink.net> ******

Ben,

This should be fairly simple to do--if you are using MV 4.04 just set the
following variable in your catalog.cfg file:

Variable SQLDSN dbi:mysql:db_name:hostname_unix_box:3306

The DB tables will be created as long as access is provided to mysql once
you start the mv server.

Hope that helps,

Subject: [mv] minivend and mysql on seperate machines?

****** message to minivend-users from News <news@tagworks.com> ******

hello,

we are trying to put together a minivend server running off of mysql. the
minivend server is on one physical machine and the mysql server is on
another physical machine. we wanted to set our universal dbi connection to
access the remote mysql server but can't seem to get it working. accessing
mysql on the same machine is working fine and no problem.

how do you set minivend to access remote mysql server?
is there a way to have makecat create the db/tables on the remote server?

thanks,
ben
