Absolutely correct. 

If you want to copy them en masse to the persistent Values object,
you can put in the page:

    [update values]

This would be the same thing that happens when you do a
form URL (<FORM ACTION="[process]">) with a return action
(<INPUT TYPE=hidden NAME=mv_todo VALUE=return>).
