[mv] Interchange and CCVS

I saw an earlier post in the minivend mailing list archives that said
Akopia was talking with RedHat about integrating CCVS with
Interchange.
This is of great interest to my employer and we were wondering what
the nature of the integration would be.
We have CCVS already (for our own internal billing - controlled
through a non-shopping cart front end that's only used by our
employees) and we're in the process of migrating from ShopSite to
Interchange as the shopping cart system for our customers. We'd like
to offer online credit card transactions as well.
However, for security reasons we have installed CCVS on a separate
machine from the computer that the web server is on. This has not
been a problem for our closed internal application because we simply
ran a web server on the CCVS machine as well. But we /don't/ want to
host customer web sites on the CCVS machine as well.
We're prepared to write a program that serves as a bridge between the
two machines, but we'd like to know if anyone has written such a
bridge before and would be willing to share the code or techniques
with us. And also, could anyone from Akopia speculate whether the
CCVS/Interchange integration will support a similar setup?
Regards,
Chris Wenham
