[mv] Relational DB without SQL
****** message to minivend-users from Eric Paul <epaul@spellbook.net> ******
Is there any way to do relational-database type searches on text-based data
files? I have a customer who wants to sell replacement parts for their
products online. I created the "products" table with a list of all the
replacement parts. I then created another table with a list of the
products these parts go in. Right now I can search the products database
with no problem, but I can't return fields from the secondary database. I
tried adapting the code from the simple demo for reading from the "cat.txt"
database, but it's not behaving the way I want. Here's a snip of the code
I have:
[loop prefix=master list="item-field sku]"]
<TD WIDTH="8" HEIGHT="166" VALIGN="top" ALIGN="left"><IMG SRC="clear.gif" WIDT
<TD WIDTH="310" HEIGHT="166" VALIGN="top" ALIGN="left">
<A HREF="[area [master-field sku]]">[master-description]</A></B></FONT><BR>
[/loop]
But this returns all blanks. Any ideas, or is it just easier for me to
install MySQL on their server so I can do INNER JOINS?
